Diary of a Redneck Opera Zinger by Jay Hunter Morris 132 pp.
Jay Morris is a big ol' Texas boy who just happens to be an opera singer, a tenor to be exact. A few years ago he toured the world in an acclaimed production of Wagner's Siegfried. Morris compiled this book of random anecdotes about his life and performing so that his young son could read about some of what his father did with his life. This isn't great literature but there are amusing stories of random episodes of his life including a near disastrous fishing trip, a car infested with bugs, and tales of his encounters with celebrities that turn him into a total fan-boy. The book is quick to read and made a nice evening's entertainment.
