There are some great photos in the book and since it is one of my favorite subjects, of course I enjoyed the book. The accompanying essays range in topic from people who were positively impacted by their exposure to a public library to those who are providing public service in libraries. There is some talk of libraries in trouble and that is a little depressing to read. Some of the photos are of libraries that have closed. That can't be good for the areas and population that are no longer served. Maybe I'm too naive but I would like to hear some positive things about public libraries...maybe those stories are harder to find?
