All Adults Here

All Adults HereAll Adults Here by Emma Straub, 356 pgs.

One of my favorite type of book, this dysfunctional family is actually not all that dysfunctional. They have a few things going on and a few problems but really they are all making progress. Siblings Elliot, Porter and Nick love their mom Astrid but they don't feel all that close to her. But Astrid is a survivor and she witnesses her frenemy Barbara get hit by a bus. Barbara's death affects her deeply. Life is short. She wants to make changes, be closer to her kids. And she is ready to come out as bi-sexual. Her girlfriend Birdie is supportive. Everyone has something going on and we follow them as their relationships strengthen and grow. This book has lots of different types of characters and all are interesting. I really enjoyed this book.
