Lucy Richardson has just relocated to the Outer Banks from Boston. She leaves behind her over-involved family, an almost fiance and Harvard where she was a librarian. Now she is assistant director at the Lighthouse Library on Bodie Island. Her aunt Ellen and her family are there and childhood memories. Her cousin Josie runs a bakery that seems to be the most popular business in the area. When the library board president turns up dead and two volumes of a loaned Austen collection go missing, things get exciting. Charles (as in Dickens) is the library cat dedicated to making everyone's library experience better...ha, who am I kidding, he is mostly dedicated to make HIS daily experience better.
