Righteous

Righteous / Joe Ide,  330 pages

Isaiah Quintabe witnessed his brother's death by a hit and run accident but in the intervening ten years, he has never really accepted that explanation.  Now, he discovers the car at a junk yard and the case comes to the forefront again.  IQ has since become the PI of choice in his neighborhood, solving mysteries big and small.  He has a dog now and is still friends with Dodson, his sometimes sidekick.  When his brother's girlfriend calls, he gets involved in a case with gangs, loan sharks and an international human trafficking organization.  Along the way, he solves his brother's murder. As the book ends, it seems that IQ has resolved some of his issues and so we are looking forward to seeing the direction he goes in the next book.  Still very impressed by this character and the author.
