Every 90 years, 12 gods return to Earth as young attention-grabbing humans. Within two years, they're all dead. The Wicked + the Divine tells of their most recent visit, which started in 2014, and finds them all as some variation of pop stars. A skeptical reporter is interviewing several of the group when some assailants ends up dead at the snap of Luci's (that would be Lucifer's) fingers, setting off a trial and a mystery that Luci's fangirl Laura attempts to unravel. This is an intriguing concept, though it's a bit confusing, given all of the gods, most of whom are only somewhat familiar to me. I'll keep reading though, as I like Laura and Cassandra, the reporter, who winds up helping Laura.
