As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust by Alan Bradley 389 pp.
This is the seventh book in the Flavia de Luce mystery series. Per her mother's last wishes, the young sleuth, now twelve years old, has been sent to the boarding school in Canada that her mother attended years before. Upon arrival at the school she receives the first shock when a dessicated body falls from the fireplace in her room sending a schoolmate into shock. Although Flavia is keen to begin investigating, she only manages to pocket a small charm that fell from the body before the authorities take over. While acclimating herself to the new school and surroundings she learns that there is more to this "school" than meets the eye and the reason her mother sent her there. Of course, Flavia discovers the identity of the corpse, the killer, and one of three "missing" students. The removal of Flavia from her home territory in England gives a somewhat different flavor to this episode that wasn't quite as satisfying as the previous volumes. However, I still eagerly await the next installment.
