Night Film by Marisha Pessl 602 pgs.
Another great book by Pessl, I remember reading "Special Topics in Calamity Physics" and being kind of skeptical about it until the moment when I was SOLD on it and couldn't put it down. I knew this book was popular but wasn't sure about the topic. It didn't take long at all to get to the point of not wanting to put it down.
A beautiful, young, talented woman with a famous father kills herself and three people with very different interests and motivation are thrown together to figure out why (and if it is really a suicide). The investigation leads all over the place and includes a dysfunctional family (or are they?), a secret society, an aged movie star, and a lot of other strange people. There is an element of the supernatural and it is best not to say too much, I think. This is fast paced and will suck you in and may make you rethink some of your ideas.
