Embassytown

Embassytown by China Mieville, 345 pages.
Mieville is always interesting, and ususally not in the same way twice. Embassytown struck me as very different than Railsea or The City and the City. Very different than anything else I remember reading.
Hosts, alien beings on a distant planet, communicate with humans through carefully selected human twins, ambassadors. When a non-twin pair and the concept of lying are introduced this story of a bewildering and complex world spins wildly out of control. A gripping book, well narrated in the audio version by Susan Duerden.
