You by Charles Benoit 223 pages
This cautionary tale opens with Kyle finding a wallet on the floor of a busy hallway in his high school. As he picks it up, he is thrown into the lockers and accused of its theft by its owner, a powerful head jock. Kyle has tried to blend into the woodwork as member of the "hoodie crew". But he is plucked from anonymity by Zack, a new kid. Zack invites him to a hot party with hotter girls. One of the girls ask Kyle if Zack has found his weak point yet. It turns out that Zack is a master manipulator. Told in sparse prose with a second person perspective, this has an immediacy about it. Benoit warns the reader that every choice should be made with care; consequences for a poor decision can have immense impact. Recommended guy reading.
